Had a great time at this lodge! The owners were super friendly and helpful, giving me great advice on what to do in the area. The kitchen was big and clean, with everything I needed for cooking. Plus, there was an outdoor pizza oven that was a fun bonus! The location was perfect for walking and cycling, and I loved that they had bikes available for guests to use. it was a really lovely place to stay.
There were a couple of downsides to mention. the accommodation was not exactly as it appeared in the photos, which was a bit disappointing.

Station Lodge in Ohakune is one of our favorite places to stay in New Zealand. the owners are lovely and extremely knowledgeable about the area, helping us set up activities. the independent apartment was very comfortable with great amenities like a music system and TV. the floor to ceiling window provided stunning views of the snow-capped mountains. the bed, with an electric blanket, was the most comfortable we've ever slept in. the location is also convenient, being close to the train station and Train Museum. the kitchen facilities are fantastic, with everything we needed, and the whole place is clean and quiet. a great experience!
Nothing, all was good 😊.

We loved staying at this lodge! the self-contained apartments were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. the staff were friendly and helpful, and we even got upgraded to a bigger room, which was great value for us. the location near the railway line and historic railway station was a unique and enjoyable experience. Plus, being close to the popular Powderkeg Restaurant and Bar was a bonus. the hot tub in the yard was a hit with the whole family!
Felt safe walking at night, nothing to complain about.

The decoration at Station Lodge was lovely, with a cozy and comfortable atmosphere perfect for senior people like me. The general areas were well-maintained, and I enjoyed spending time in the spacious lounge and dining areas. The hotel was also easily accessible for us seniors, with no stairs to climb and convenient parking facilities.
Sadly, I was unable to locate any staff for assistance during my arrival and departure. It would have been helpful to have someone available to provide information or help with any questions.

The location was perfect for hitting the slopes at Mt Ruapehu during the day and partying at The Junction Après Ski zone at night. We had a blast shredding the snow and then dancing the night away with our crew. The lodge itself was super chill, with a wicked lounge area where we met heaps of other young people who were also there for a good time. And the staff were all legends, always hooking us up with the best tips for a wild night out.
The only thing we wished for was a dedicated party room where we could crank up the music and have a proper dance floor. Don't get us wrong, the lounge was great, but sometimes we just wanted to turn it up a notch and get our groove on.

We hit up The Junction Après Ski zone after a huge day of shredding on Mt Ruapehu. The vibes were insane, with pumping music, cool lighting, and everyone busting out their best dance moves. It was the perfect place to unwind and party with friends!
The only thing we would ask for is a bigger party area at the lodge. Don't get me wrong, The Junction was awesome, but it would have been even better if there was a dedicated space at the lodge for young party-goers like us to hang out and have a blast.

The Junction Après Ski zone, located at the base of the Ohakune Mountain Road, was the perfect place to unwind and have fun after a thrilling day of shredding on Mt Ruapehu. The atmosphere was lively, and there were plenty of activities for everyone, from delicious food options to live music and entertainment. It truly catered to all ages, and our children had a blast!
For dads, it would be great to have more child-friendly facilities in the lodge, such as a dedicated play area or organized activities.

We have stayed at Station Lodge about 4 times now and it is always a great experience. The apartment is comfortable, modern and well equipped. We love the beautiful view of Koro Ruapehu from our room and the convenient location next to mountain road. The bathroom has fantastic water pressure and temperature. Check-in and check-out processes are easy. The free use of bikes is a great perk for exploring the town.
Would recommend this hotel.

I had a very nice stay at a lodge in a great location. The facilities were excellent, with a comfortable bed, good heating, and clean bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge allowed for interaction with other guests. The hosts were wonderful and even helped me book a shuttle for a hiking trip. I would definitely recommend this hotel for its value for money and great location.

The chalet is absolutely amazing! It has this cozy open living area where you can relax and unwind after a day of exploring nature. The kitchen is fully equipped, so cooking meals is a breeze. The wall-mounted flat panel TV is a nice touch for some evening entertainment. Plus, the FREE wifi keeps you connected with the world outside. it's perfect for someone like me who wants to be in direct touch with nature but still have all the comforts of home.
One thing that I personally didn't love was the drying cupboard. It felt a bit small for my liking.
